Automatic routing of calls based on CID number module
March 1st, 2010Through my work with various clients over the years, I've accumulated a list of features that clients often ask for that require some dialplan programming and often database tables.
For instance, I have a client (iDotMind) that asked to have calls to get routed to different phones or queues automatically based on their CallerID number. This allows them to route certain clients directly instead of forcing them to go through the IVR to reach someone. The module that is being written for future systems is based on this functionality, with the addition of a single IVR entry that allows the caller to override the auto-route and go through the normal IVR menus. This allows customer to not be auto-routed.
I am in the process of writing this as a modular package I can easily install on client systems with minimal time, reducing the time (and cost) for installation and configuration.
Saying Goodbye To a Longtime Friend
February 22nd, 2010Quick personal post to those who know my 10.5 year old Shar-Pei, Gojira. In her advanced age (10 is fairly old for a Shar-Pei), Gojira is starting to go blind, has become unpredictable and aggressive at times. She recently bit me, and has been aggressive towards other dogs and myself as well.
Therefore, it is with a heavy heart and mind that I have come to the decision that I must put her to sleep. I do not wish to do so, but at the same time I must consider the safety of my family and others.
Gojira has been a truly great friend to me and others in the last 9 and 1/2 years, and she will be sorely missed.
Injury Update
February 13th, 2010Just a quick post to let friends, family, and clients know that I have been cleared by the doctor to put weight on my leg now, and I am no longer taking pain medication. This is especially nice since the pain medication was affecting my ability to work on VOIP projects. The really scary part is that now the bills are coming in...So far they're up to $1,568..
Looks like I'll need to scramble! I will be resuming work this coming Monday, February 15th, and that should help a bit ;-)
New Webhost, New CMS, Same Attitude
January 30th, 2010I have relaunched the site! After several problems over the past year, I finally got everything worked out and had time to believe myself ready to run my site properly. Major changes here, Rushowr.com is now hosted with a new company, and I've decided I like this new Blog/CMS: B2Evolution. For those who know me and my wide range of interests and attitudes, you may rest assured that I'm not changing any of that with this new site. :)
That's it for the moment, but I'll post quickie blog entries whenever new content around the site is added. Some of the things I plan on putting in here is a section for my tattooing career (which is still just barely above ground level), a photoblog of my tattoo work, a section specifically for VoIP information and quite possibly my own documentation on Asterisk, AEL (Asterisk Extension Language), Freeswitch, etc...
Hopefully I'll have something that someone would like to read. I know
